James Larkin march and rally

Today (October 9th), members of Liverpool Solidarity Federation had gone into the City Centre to support Liverpool Antifascists. The British National Party were planning to hold a table-top stall on Church Street and, as a week earlier, we were keen to show that fascism was not welcome in Liverpool.

In the event, the BNP did not show up and so SolFed took the opportunity to attend the James Larkin march and rally which travelled from the Liverpool Irish Centre to the Courts, via St Georges Hall. It was a vibrant event, with a variety of trade union, workers’, socialist, anti-war, antifascists, and Irish republican groups taking part.

As well as airing our banner, we also gave out some No War but Class War leaflets (PDF), arguing for a more radical perspective on tackling the attacks on our class.

    Shame Fein marching against the cuts they plan to enforce upon the Irish people on behalf of their British ConDem pay masters :/
